We have reserved parking for those with limited mobility on Church Street. Our building is accessible for persons with physical limitations, and we have special seating in the sanctuary for wheelchairs.

There is also plenty of parking across the street at the Barter’s Smith Theater.

For over 140 years, Abingdon UMC has been a beacon of faith and community. With your support, we hope to renovate our church home—inside and out—so we can continue to welcome and serve for generations to come.

We hope to renew the exterior of our historic church, creating a warm, welcoming presence in the heart of Abingdon that reflects Christ's light.

Abingdon UMC Interior: Building a Welcoming Church Home

We hope to make our interior spaces accessible, comfortable, and welcoming for all who gather to worship, serve, and grow in faith.

With joyful and grateful hearts, we are getting closer.

As of late February, $1.15 Million has been faithfully pledged toward our $1.5 million goal!

Our goal is to raise $1.5 million to complete these and other projects. It will take all of us, giving as we're able and feel led. Please take time to pray and then fill out a pledge card. Together, with God's help, we can meet or exceed this goal and change lives in the name of Jesus Christ through the ministry of Abingdon United Methodist Church.
